multi-instrumental multi-track improvisations?

...what are multi-instrumental multi-track improvisations?

promotingcrap, promoting crap

It goes something like this:

"I first improvise one track on a digital recorder and then improvise the other instruments on top of the first track(i.e. the first instrument I improvise is often a bass-line or a structure of various chords on a musical instrument...and from then on I 'dub'/improvise other instruments over the already recorded tracks)...this goes on and on until I feel its done…"

In other words:

"I start with one track and then later on find out where it takes me.... By doing this I never have any idea how a recording should sound...before it is finished........"

Instrumentation so far:

(an old 8 track digital-recorder) & acoustic guitars, spanish/classic guitars, twelve string guitar, electric guitars, grand-piano, fretless bass, double bass, mandolin, lyres, violin, metalophone, harmonicas, Tibetan siningbowls, electronic vibes, vibraphone, percussion & experimental drum loops, ...an old broken piano & a crap kids-keyboard!
